I note, on Chris Helm's deer hair spinning tape that I have, that he says that you don't need special thread for tying with deer hair and I believe he said that he uses plain old 3/0 Uni. I've just tied a dozen deer mice, and find, however, that I prefer the gel spun, doesn't break as easily when I crank down on it as does the 3/0..but both did work. Joyce
