Have been using Gudebrods GSP and really like it for deer hair, but it is
very slippery..you have to use lots of Flexament as you use it to keep it in
place.  It only comes in white and costs here about 3.00 a spool of 100
yards..so not an all around thread for sure. I note, on Chris Helm's deer
hair spinning tape that I have, that he says that you don't need special
thread for tying with deer hair and I believe he said that he uses plain old
3/0 Uni.  
    I've just tied  a dozen deer mice, and find, however, that I prefer the
gel spun, doesn't break as easily when I crank down on it as does the
3/0..but both did work. Joyce
