Hmmm... those look pretty interesting. :-) Could you use the same
techinque with say Icelandic Sheep? Not quite the same effects, to be
sure, but I'm thinking about what I have at hand...
For those who may be curious, the shad are moving up out of Lake Oahe
on the Missouri River in SD towards the dam at Lake Sakakawea in ND. From
what I hear, the shad were planted on Oahe a few years when the smelt population
crashed. Now, it seems large quantities of 2-4" fish are moving out of Oahe and
making their way upstream, with reports in the past few days of large numbers
seen in the tailwater below Garrison Dam.
One wonders, ultimately, how this is going to impact the fishery.
Guess it
depends on if and how well they manage to reproduce. It was thought they
wouldn't do that well in Oahe... Guess we'll see...
