Wes,

As I have understood it, the bend back hook is more of a keel hook than a
swimming nymph hook. I found a little piece about it on:
http://tinyurl.com/74pmc

BTW, Daiichi 1730 and Dai-Riki 700B are both 'bent shank nymph hooks' on
which the shanks are bent down. The shank of a swimming nymph hook is bent
up in a long smooth bend. It looks weird... but I love it (maybe because I'm
a little bit twisted myself). A damsel nymph on a swimming nymph hook is the
same thing as a big fat cigar... a proven killer. Daiichi's swimming nymph
hook is model 1770. (I can't find a Dai-Riki SN hook in any of the
comparison charts though.)

Thanks Mike!

Bumping this one back into play. Can anyone answer the question about what
a bentback hook is?

2. Also, I keep seeing references to a bendback hook. Is this the same as a
swimming nymph hook such as Daiichi1730, Dai-Riki 700-B or is it a form of
keel hook?
