I had the thumb screw break on my Renzetti also. What I did was go to the hardware store and buy an "allen head" screw / bolt and took an allen head wrench that fit into the screw and JB welded it into it and left an "elbow" sticking out of the head. Sawed the elbow off about one inch from screw and now have a nifty lever to use to tighten, instead of the pesky thumb screw !
