If your using a weighted forward fly line and if you feel to get the proper
balance ,rod to reel ,you can cut off a few feet of the running line of the
weighted forward line. You have to check to see if this really works ,the
reel weight should equal to the rod weight for a good balance. Now that is
something that never been printed before .Glenn

..Also I don't use a large arbor
reel....To heavy of a reel or balance one inch down from the end of the
handle ,make you work to hard.
Glen,
I agree with your rod balance theory. I very often have a smaller reel
(less backing) on my rods. I am assuming that there are some very
lite-weight large arbor reels that are reasonably priced.
