I’m having feet problems, too, but not as bad.

I had a client years ago that makes custom insoles. Have you tried a product like this?

The things you buy in drug stores are nearly worthless.

These jobbies are molded to your feet, and have the strength to hold your feet in positon,

And padding to keep even basketball players from bottoming out.

I’m not affiliated with these guys in any way now. But I’m about to shell out the bucks myself.

You can find this product at www.wrymark.com. The head honcho is a duck hunter and a Vietnam vet. I haven’t had any contact in over ten years, so this is not an ad.

Frankly, I’ve been looking into kayaks, too, but I want to keep wading as long as possible.

I hope this helps.

Subject: [VFB] Metatarsal Pain and Wading

This post is definitely Fishing Related.(SEE BELOW).  If my feet get much worse, I'll be confined to the tying bench and wading will be a thing of the past.  I made the comment several years ago on the VFB that as long as I could wade, life would be great.  Now, it appears that I'm about to lose one of the things I enjoy most in life.  Read below and if any of you have any suggestions, please speak up.  If you want to do it on list, that will be fine with me.  Other members may also have the same problem.

TNX for any help you can give me.

I either have severely brittle metatarsals or there's something else going on with my feet. I'm now down to just one brand of shoes, (KSwiss) that give me any comfort. When I do a lot of walking, like shopping or walking my fence line repairing the fence at my ranch, the evenings are agony for both my feet.  If I stay off them for a couple of days, they seem to be OK, However, another juant like going to Walmart with my wife brings the pain back with a vengeance, as does a day of wading when I'm fly fishing. My Podiatrist was of no help whatsoever.  He just said that I had the same ailment as Jose Maria Olazabel, the golfer and it would take a long time for the metatarsals to heal.  Didn't put me in casts, Nothing - just take it easy a few days. I'm about 20 pounds over weight and 5' 10" tall.  Any suggestions would be sincerely appreciated.
