Pete,
I thought for sure that I had the recipe and tying
instructions for "Mark's BWO Nymph"... Come to find out the one I have is
for "Mike's Baetis Nymph"... Here's where you can find the recipe and
tying instructions for it, and many others you might like: http://www.ifly4trout.com/flypatterns.htm
... Basically it's a thread body ribbed with a tight roped thread;
built-up thread thorax; black foam strip overlapping wingcase; legs of tan
antron; on a size #22... I suppose the same body concept can be made with
biot instead of thread... Hope this helps...
Rodney...

pattern/ recipe
Pete,
I might be wrong but think a BWO nymph is imitated by a
pheasant tail nymph. Possibly, "Mark's" refers to replacing the copper
body with turkey biot, or a combination of biot & copper wire... sort of
alternating to give not only heavy segmentation but a bit of shimmer?
Just a guess.

Hello, everyone-
A fishing buddy of mine had great winter success with a size 16
"Mark's BWO Nymph," and I came home wanting to at least find the pattern (so
I can tie some after I finish the Panfish swap flies I have due)... I can't
seem to find a pattern / recipe for this fly anywhere! Does anyone
have a link or recipe to this fly? I suspect it is a biot body, but I
only saw the thing from 25 feet upstream or so; my imagination is the best I
have right now.
Any help would be most appreciated!
Tight wraps,
Pete
