Roger Plourde may still have some old Spanish silk gut.   I just got around to spinning some and it turned out great!  I thought it would be thick so I spun three pieces and it stretches a little when twisted so I may try four next time.

He also carries hooks but they’re vintage and will set you back a lot!  I would watch ebay.  I pick up a lot of my eyeless hooks in bulk off ebay.  I would definitely start there.

Someone already mentioned silk leaders.  I have a lot of them but haven’t tried twisting them yet.  I have some already twisted and they will work well also.

John McLain would be able to track down a source for you also.

Let me know if you need more help and I’ll ask around.

Warm Regards,
