Other than Tony's CP and other streamers, I use a 14 BH Caddis.  Take a curved caddis hook, a 3/32'nds or so bead and wrap some dubbing around it.  Don't forget to debarb the little thing.  I let them sink for a 10-20 count and re-present them.  I understand the big-fish-count days of the spring and look forward to that as well, but in my book a 2 fish day beats a no fish day any day of the week and 3 times on Sunday!!

I catch one or two per trip, but compared to the Spring Spawn when I can get 50-100 per day, just makes Me long for Spring. One thing that has thrown My Winter fishing off, is, for example, we have had over 6" of rain here in just the last week, and the water is sooo muddy you couldn't see the fish no matter what glasses you had on....When or if it clears up, then even if it's cold, on cloudy days I will do pretty good I think, Chuck

Chuck,

Why wait for spring?  I've already caught 2 'Gills in January and we get colder up here.  Time your days and outtings by the weather and walk your lake if you can and wear polaroids to spot your fish, it'll make catching them alittle easier if your fishing where you know the fish are!!!
