I try a go a light as possible but I haven't found a suitable small traveling kitchen sink yet.
Suitable clothes for the day including buzz off anti-mosquito shirt & socks 1 Ghillie Backpack-vest combination containing a 2 litre hydration bladder full of frozen orange juice. (Like Mark Delaney I am diabetic and need the OJ to stave off any low blood sugar attacks) Food and lots of it!/Trail mix/granola bars Blood test kit/Back-up insulin pen mosquito spray/Sunburn cream/Band-Aids Bear pepper spray Anti-bear pocket knife if the pepper spray doesn't work! (Mel and I fish a spot that place that John Gierach refers to in his book "Standing in a River Waving a Stick" as "Grizzly Central"). Pair of bullet nose pliers in holster on belt (with pepper spray & anti-bear knife) breathable waders with lightweight polartech pants. pair of special wading boots that I can change the sole of permitting me to outrun Mel when the bear comes charging by. Spare leaders, various tippet spools to suit, floatant, desiccant, Frogs Fanny & sink agent & samadou. Multiple fly boxes inc a large C & F with hundreds of dry flies of which I use about 3 or 4 but I don't know in advance which 3 or 4! A box of nymphs, a box of ants (in season) a box of midges, and some big streamers in case of Bull trout. Digital camera in waterproof case plus spare battery. Rain jacket, lightweight polartech sweater Ex London UK hospital artery forceps (cost me 10 bob some 40 years ago) If I have to get my flies down deep, I ask Mel for some split shot! Small aquarium net to catch bugs with (That's bugs and not Buggs!) 4 or 5 wt rod depending on water being fished. Hardy lightweight and spare spool if required. Neville
