Don: When stationed at Eglin AFB in Ft Walton Bch FL, I went deep sea
fishing out of Destin FL (Biggest Little Fishing Village in the world it is
called), and I'd sell My catch to the fish market right on the dock, cause i
could make more in one Saturday fishing trip sometimes, than a two week
paycheck from the Air Force. Anyway, I saw, (and caught) MANY, MANY grouper,
trigger fish, Snappers, etc ect , Only to bring up either half a fish, or
more often just the head of the fish, where a shark or other bigger fish had
chomped down on the fish on the way up. And you are right. Luckily, that
cheek meat on the grouper is a delicacy. Went for $10 a pound back in the
mid 70's way back then..It was like the "fillet mignon" of the fish. Chuck
