Yeah, and they had HUGE catfish too... Our neighbor ran trot lines and set lines in the bayou baited with the dead crawfish, and he would catch some whoppers... They weren't as good as a one or two pound catfish, but he made his living cat fishing, Chuck

Remember, if the crawfish tail wasn't curled under (= dead), it got pitched.  If you lived on the bayou, the catfish got a good feed on crawfish boil day.  I'll bet a crawfish fly or a chili-pepper would work on cats once you started chummin'.
 
For those who know how to boild crawfish, do you purge them?  I get yea's and nay's.
 
I heard the fishing in deep-S. Louisiana has gotten hot, but there are few facilities left able to handle charters.  Anyone know?  I've tried to reach a couple of guides I know in Empire, and still no phone service.
