Nyala, in my opinion, is one of the best (and most difficult to find) materials I've used for quill-body-style dries, leaving an almost variegated/gradually-darkening effect from tip to stem! Males typically have a "mohawk" down their spine that is black or very deep brown at the hide and gradually gets lighter to the platinum-blonde color at the tips... when these are dyed, then wrapped (wet, to prevent splitting), they gradually progress from the dyed color to the black color - a dream to see! I can only immagine how it is to tie streamers with!
Just my 2 cents... keep me posted on how it works for your uses,
Pete
