2 scissors (old [I can't help but use it] and supersharp), dubbing needle, whip finisher, vise, bobbin with thread, naked safety razor, hook honer (I sharpen every hook before it goes in the vise), and micro forceps to hold the hook to sharpen....I think I covered it all. The only 'specialty' tool is the hair stacker and hackle pliers which I rarely use. All this seems minimalistic but I love it. Its been like this for the past 1000 flies. As you may have guessed, I mostly tie streamers, nymphs, and midges, etc.

Girls and Boys,
a quick poll: Look at your desk, what tools are there on the desk, right
now. Which of the the whole kit and caboodle did you use during the
last week? Which tools do you use for the fly you are tying right now?

My observations: Dubbing needle, 2 scissors (one pointed, one for hair),
1 empty bobbin, one filled with a spool, 1 tweezers, 2 vises , a
bunch of allen keys, a hackle pliers
Used in the last week: 1 vise, hair scissor, 1 needle, the bobbin,
tweezers, hackle pliers
For the fly right now: vise, scissor, needle, tweezers.

I whip by hand, It would take some time to find my whip finisher.

And what's your clutter?
Rene
