Folks: i have started to use dry flies the last cpl trips out, as the bluegill are going "on the bed" down here in Dixie... And I was wondering.. My family and I love tent camping, even though we don't get to go much.. But I have this huge spray can (silicone i think is all it is) of tent water repellant. Would this work as a dry fly floatant???? Also, i have noticed that some of the dry flies, when they get wet, they stay JUST under the water, in the film I guess you call it. Would it be better to NOT use a floatant and just let them fish where they are in that area just under the surface????? I tell ya something I think is neat too. I have been going boat fishing for bluegill about every other day, if the weather is nice, cause it takes My back, legs, and feet a day to recover... Anyway, i was using a foam water bug type fly yesterday that has an orange foam body, 8 white rubber legs, and two clear stacked wings on it's back.. And, as soon as it would land on the water, the leader/tippet would be curled a few rounds, and as it un curled, it made that fly slowly turn over and over, lie a wounded bug.. Those Bluegill, shell cracker, and two small largemouth bass tore that thing up as soon as it started that turning on the water......Thanks in advance, Chuck
