Deb - I stopped wrapping in front of the bundle before packing it - spin,
pack, wrap in front. I also changed from UNI 3/0 or Big Fly thread to using
GSP and haven't been cutting the thread anymore.

Or you can use your empty bic pen. I found the brassie to cut my thread if
I wasn't careful. I still use it though on large eyed hooks because it does
work well. It may just be that I caught my thread on the edge of it while
packing.
Try dampening your deer hair lightly when you tie it in. It will pack much
tighter. I use my liquid head cement to do this right after I spin a bundle
and before I pack it and it serves two purposes!
