I went to a local watershed today.. An Old lady who worked with My wife at the Nursing Home (she is older than most of the residents and cannot get out to fish anymore herself, but she LOVES fish) wanted a big mess of fish, so I caught her one... Brought home 20 Gills, Good sized mostly, 1 largemouth bass at about 1 pound 12 ounces, and one black crappie at 14 ounces... We bought a whole, frozen salmon that we are gonna grill tomorrow, so I saved the bass and black crappie to grill too, and took the lady the gills, she was tickled pink... Chuck

Water temp was 79-80 degrees, all the fish are "on the bed" spawning, or getting ready too, as the females were all full of eggs....I used an orange bodied foam spider with white rubber legs and Mylar wing back (spider with wings??? Well it worked LOL) and they tore that thing up. Caught the Black Crappie on a Crawfish.. I retire the crawfish fly after catching that crappie FIRST cats, so I can "copy" it and maybe get some more as we LOVE to eat Crappie, and if ya never tried "blackened crappie" it is GREAT.....
