I have checked out more than one forum and read the same... "Airflo sucks!"... though few have specified what they think of this particular line. Ban the brand for earlier screw-ups? But several have been surprised about that this isn't another one in the row, which also include the memory issue. Several have said 'very little memory' and 'no memory at all'.
Latest issue of TroutFisherman has a test of 18 floating lines. The Ridge Line gets 18/20 memory points together with Leeda Gallion, Airflo Sixth Sense, Orvis Silver Label Hy-Flote, Grey's Platinum XD, Snowbee XS and Partridge Shooting Distance. Only Cortland 444SL Precision and Shakespeare Glider got more in the memory category. The winner was an Airflo floater (Sixth Sense) on 94/100 total. 91/100 gave the Airflo Ridge Line a second place (together with Grey's Platinum XD and S.A. Ultra 4).

If all Airflo floaters should be avoided at all costs, how is it that their latest two ones can take 1st and 2nd place in an 18-lines test?

Ok, I need to qualify a statement I made earlier in this thread where I said all Airflo lines are bad. The floating lines that Airflo produce are dire and should be avoided at all costs. The only good one they ever prodiced is one they gave away with Trout Fisherman magazine about 6 or 7 years ago - they never manufactured it after that day though. Airflo floating lines have problems with memory because of the way they are made. Airflo are aware of the problem but refuse to change it.

However, their sinkers are the best lines on the market at the moment and have been for some time now. The Delta lines by Airflo are perfect and the Sixth Sense lines they now produce are excellent sinking and intermediate lines.

Don't do it. They're shocking. All Airflo floating lines are poor. Introductory offers designed to catch people who haven't been stung by Airflo floaters before. If you want to try a new float take a look at the Sshoot lines. Reviews here:

Have anyone tried the new Airflo Ridge line yet?:

If someone has, would you agree with the reviews on:

I bumped into an indroductory offer in an English fly-fishing magazine. Today it costs about $45 but after 1:st of June the price for it will be about $100. Needless to say, I'm really curious about this line and would love some reviews from people I know.

Thats an interesting concept with that new flyline,,,but what about cleanability, trying to get dirt out of those grooves in the line cant be to easy. we all know once the line is dirty it doesnt float as well as it should.
Just a thought.
Good Day to all
