I stand to be corrected by other greybeards on the list, but this
concept isn't all that new. A Canadian company, Northern Fly Lines, and
I think Cortland too, produced lines with "bumps" to, at least
theoretically, make the lines shoot more easily. The coating must be
stiff of course to have any useful effect, and this is often
counterproductive. Regardless, I'll reserve comment on the Airflo
offering until I've had a chance to use one in the field.
