Deb,

There are a half-dozen 'weaves' that have been around from before Torill & I
were born (Although Dr. D invented them). Her claim to fame was in her
crochted-style tying, with extended bodies.
http://www.kaliningrad-fishing.ru/zhur-sr/008-2005/statja-005-1.html She
too faced the problem of weaving beyong the bend of the hook for making
extended bodies. So she crochted the tail extension and wellah!

I met her in Denver at the ISC show years ago (was there with Mustad). Very
nice lady. Had all the guys going, too, as she is pretty. Not me, though.
But Buggs, well, he's a rabbit.

I have some pictures of her flies Petru D sent me and I suspect that I used
one of the pictures of her flies for my inspiration also. I pull those
pictures out when ever I get a bug to work on my woven flies.
Now his flies I haven't even considered attempting yet. I'll have to get in
touch with him again if I ever get that brave. Once he told me how many
threads were involved I decided I would probably end up tying myself to the
hook. He takes it to a whole new level! I tried to convince him he needed
to write a book on weaving but I don't think he was convinced. LOL He's a
very nice guy.
Warm Regards,
Deb

Steven,

Miscellanious facts about mine, now when Torill Kolbu has been mentioned: My
Rubbered Creative Pupa is in fact a version of Torill's own CDC Creative
Pupa. (I have the real one on:

Not saying it would make her proud, but still miscellanious facts. ;o)

I just got Deb Duran's Woven Parachute to complete Jimmy D's March Madness

Torrill would be proud...

Thanks for following up on this Deb. My appreciation.
