Tony
Thank you. Daphne and I went fishing tonight for pan fish. We caught so
many fish it wasn't funny. I was using a chartreuse Los Alamos Ant (I think
John Ridderbos tied it for me) until I lost it and switched to an orange
one.
I picked up several different flies from Harrison Steeves in November so now
I have some good patterns to work from..... I'm off on another mission.
After we got called home for dinner we went through some of the flies she
has received from the VFB gang. WOW!!! She really has gotten some neat
stuff. Some of the midge flies that were sent to her were so tiny!! Rodney
the flies you sent were amazing! I'm not sure I could even tie those to
tippet.
There were some patterns in the bunch that were absolutely inspiring! I
think I may have found some new uses for Sili Skin also. I wish I knew who
the gentleman was that sent her the package with the TU label from
Pennsylvania! I loved the tiny sili skin minnow in it!! He sent her some
amazing flies!! There is so much talent in this group!
Daphne is going to have a hard time using the flies. She is really enjoying
taking them each out and studying them. I'm going to try to get her over
here to tie flies again in the next couple of days.
It was fun for me to see how many of your flies I could recognize without
even looking at the address labels. I did pretty good at guessing half of
you!
Thank you again to everyone that sent flies to Daphne! She was truly
shocked at the generosity you've shown her!
Warm Regards,
Deb
