Hey Buck...assuming you were using bass tackle and not the
flyrod??!!...
I had issues with Trilene in the past but the most reliable for me anyway
was Stren. I tried gold stren once and while i could still see the line, i
wasn't getting the hits with it like the "blue"...The improved cinch is about
all i used....it tied fast and held true! I did find the Trilene unraveled
from the tie point for whatever reason. It also frayed a bit more during
normal fishing than the Stren.

P.S. Don't know if i told the group or not but my wife Patty gave me
