Sounds very interesting. Fly fishing is/has taking over my life!! If I am not tying, I am thinking about tying, If I am not fishing, I am dreaming about fishing. If I am not thinking about building a bamboo rod, I am thinking about women.....I mean tying......there is nooooooooo end!! ______________________________________________ Reuven Segal

The first one I made was to show that if a rod had a twist in it, it should not be discarded. In making bamboo rods, they should be straight with no twist. In the first twisted rod, I did everything you are not supposed to do in making bamboo rods. I used strips from different culms, put every other strip in with pith side out. Flamed every other strip so I have alternating light and dark strips. Then I twisted the blank one flat at each guide. The rod casts a lot faster than than the same taper made in the conventional way. Will send you some photos off list.
