Don Bastian is a super nice guy. Fun to watch tie. I have a few of his
flies around here. I have a Scarlet Ibis he tied on an eyeless hook with a
gut leader. It's one of the first flies I got from him and it's really
unique. Hopefully this link will get you to some of his flies. If you have
time it's worth popping around and looking at the different tiers here.

Forgotten Flies is one of the first books my husband bought me from this
collection and needless to say between the streamers and the wet flies an
obsession grew! So this link comes with a discloser... don't hit the
button if you are just a casual tyer.

Deb

Garry,
Lucky you! If you like winged wet flies (Parmachene Belle, Leadwing
Coachman, etc), then I would suspect you're in for a very educational
experience.  I've only seen Don tie on his DVD (available from Byard at
Line's End, of course), but I would love to watch him tie in-person.  He's
got serious game.  Enjoy!

Did you say Don Bastian?  I think he's our speaker in October for my local
club.  Looks like I'll have to find a copy of it.

Yes!  Great article on 'classic' winged wet flies by Don Bastian.  Got me
some serious tying to do.  :-)
