Yep, Gudebrod is great thread. If I need a thinner thread I use their 10/0, for instance to tie off parachutes around the post. And even this 10/0 can be split very easily, plus it has less stretch than other thinner threads. And Gudebrod 3/0 or 6/0 is perfect for making thread bodies, for instance on Wulff type flies. It's a pity that it's so hard to find over here. Not twisted like UNI, and not over-waxed, like some earlier Gudebrod offerings (anyone remember those, came on Guetermann-style sewing machine spools..., with their own plastic bobbin holders?). As far as quality is concerned, IMNSHO they are on a par with UNI. Since their make-up is different, both threads have slightly different uses; I use Gudebrod mainly when I need to split the thread at some stage in the tying process.
