Tony,
thanks a lot.
It is my 7th rod, I build. Beside of the first 2 rods I made, it is the first time, where I do have a lot of time to build the rod, therefore I want to make the optimum out off the blank and the components.
I think I will do a test drive with tape. The spacing chart: does it make differences if the blank is stiff or has a parabolic action.

Same question to Pete: does it offer spacings for parabolic rods only?

Rene,
I have a spacing chart I go by. After I place the
guides on the blank, I string a line through the
guides and tighten it, that will show me if I have an
even curve on the blank. If not, the guides are
adjusted so that the curve is even. You can try
shifting the guides if you like and cast the rod till
you feel like you want it to feel. I use the dental
elastic bands to hold the guides when I don't have
surgical tubing that I can cut into small bands. I get
the surgical tube at a dive shop. Use one guide more
than the length of the rod in feet. On rods 9'or over,
use two strippers.
I am still behind on replying to off list mail, will
do so as I can.

List,

To switch back to fishing: Has anybody any reference
about placing
guides on a blank. In my opinion there must be
differences for tip
action blanks and full flex blanks, even if they are
of the same weight.

Any ideas?

Rene
