I get a deer hide every now and then and once all the meat and fat is
off I wash it in luke warm water and washing up liquid ( find this helps
for later). I then nail the hide on a big board (or the shed floor) and
borax it.I don't use salt like I used to as this soaks up the damp in
the air.Do it as soon as possible or freeze it otherwise you'll loose
the skin.
