TWIMC, I use the leather under the deer hair quite extensively, as long it is the soft, leathery type of tanning process. Elk is too stiff and caribou is too thin.
If anyone discards the leather portion of their strips, I would like to have them. It needs to be at least 1/8" thick for my needs, and the thicker and softer the better. Please contact me off list. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thanks, DonO
