Mr. Eaux... I have a book that shows you fly tying tools you can make and it
shows how to make the hair packers (stackers??) with old ink pen tubes and
dowels with holes drilled in them.. Well, the "correct" pages I saw said this
is a no no as it pushes the hair down instead of back.. Since you are a rebel
stacker/packer/spinner, will these home made tools suffice??? Thanks, Chuck

One thing I might point out is that stacking your hair in a stacker to get
the tips aligned is a different process from stacking the deer hair on the hook
to get designs, like multi-colors on the top side of a sculpin head. This
leads to a little confusion until you separate the processes.
