Re: [VFB] Quartz Light for tying
Hi Chuck, I know nothing about a quartz light. What I like to use is a
regular desk lamp ,black in color,to reduce glare, with a 100 watt bulb. Using
a regular house light bulbs ,it will be large enough to cover the back and
front of the fly without leaving any shadows. A 100 watt bulb makes a fly look
larger and you can see more details compared to using a 40 to 60 watt
bulb.Changing the wattage around and you will see what I mean. When I buy a new
lamp, usually under twenty dollars, try to fine one with porcelain fittings as
these can take more heat. It nice when you can turn all the lights off in the
room and just use the desk lamp. You shouldn't have any other light shinning in
your eyes while tying ,but if you need another light in the room, keep them
behind you. Again I hate small bulbs lamps as there are to many problem with
shadows.....Glenn Overton
