I'm not sure that it is exactly the same thread - Similar maybe but possibly
not the same.

I have considered transferring the thread from the Gutterman spools to the
small sewing machine spools that are readily available, however the narrow
bobbins used for these sewing machine spools have become difficult to find.
I believe Matarelli used to list a "midge" style bobbin for these spools but
I haven't seen one in a long time.

Ah Ha...  Yes ... Hit the link and follow the brands link to Gudebrod.  It
is a textile thread so you can find it in the Sewing stores.  That's
disappointing though for those of you that really enjoyed being part of
their pro team!  According to the article the bobbins used for sewing are a
different size so you will have to get an adjustable bobbin or try a
saltwater bobbin I'm pretty sure Byard carries bobbins that would work on
this kind of spool.
You should still be able to get your favorite threads though.
