Neville -

I found "midge" size bobbins on EBay. Just go to the EBay home page and
search for bobbins in "fly tying materials and supplies". There are at
least three possible sources for the small bobbins listed right now.

Also, check with Byard at Line's End first. One or the best sources for a
Midge Bobbin is the Griffin "PeeWee", and I know he can get them, if he
doesn't carry them in stock.

I'm not sure that it is exactly the same thread - Similar maybe but

not the same.

I have considered transferring the thread from the Gutterman spools to the

small sewing machine spools that are readily available, however the narrow
bobbins used for these sewing machine spools have become difficult to
find.
I believe Matarelli used to list a "midge" style bobbin for these spools
but
I haven't seen one in a long time.

Ah Ha... Yes ... Hit the link and follow the brands link to Gudebrod. It
is a textile thread so you can find it in the Sewing stores. That's
disappointing though for those of you that really enjoyed being part of
their pro team! According to the article the bobbins used for sewing are
a
different size so you will have to get an adjustable bobbin or try a
saltwater bobbin I'm pretty sure Byard carries bobbins that would work on
this kind of spool.
You should still be able to get your favorite threads though.

Deb
