Alla, That story of Tom's is definitely true. Those tournaments are summer tournaments on the Calcasieu River have been going on for years. The only time I know that they haven't gone on was last year...not many bass due to Hurricane Rita (too much saltwater intrusion). Late this fall, my fishing buddy, Ron Foreman and I fished the Calcasieu River and did catch a few small bass. Largest we saw was 12". Largest we got in the boat was 10".
