I was always taught the rule of 4 - divide the hook size by 4 and that's the
largest you should use....so a #24 would be 6, #18 would be 4, etc.

Is there, or does anyone have, a card or chart for what the largest tippet
that will usually fit into the eye of a fly hook? I know this sounds a bit
strange, or even stupid, but I am going to be getting some new tippet and
want to make sure that I get the strongest I can to fit into a #18, or
#20,
or even down to a #24.
Any tips or suggestions?
Thanks,
