Chuck,
Don has it covered pretty well, I will add that you
might make your cast so that the fly is cast up and
not straight back. Each of us have our way of casting
so what will work for one might not be the best for
the other. We have talked about you coming to the
Sowbug. This is the place where you can be shown how
to cast by certified instructors, we have some of the
best. You should bring the rod you use and some heavy
flies. Don can show his way, I can show you my way and
the instructor can show his way.
