When they build a blank (glassfiber, carbon, boron,,..) the factory
wrapps the carbon or glass plies around the mandrel they cannot ensure
that the wall of the blank is of even thickness on all areas.
If you bend the blank to a flat surface and roll the blank you feel this
in little jumps. Doing this you can feel, where the walls are a bit
thicker. These 'enforced' parts are called spine of the blank. You need
a bit more force bending the rod along these spines than on other aread.
You have to place the giudes along these spines, otherwise the rod will
not bend into the casting dirction, but will bend a little bit to the
left or the right.
