We in upstate NY got the ice late last night also, I have lost a couple of tree limbs but still have electricity [computer still works] we are supposed to get 3 inches of snow tonight and more tomorrow, no fun on the roads that’s for sure.

It sure is tying weather.

Ice storm last night. All the live oaks are drooping like weeping willows.  Power off and on. 27 degrees right now.  More freezing rain and much lower temps forcast for this evening. This wouldn't bother most of you guys and gals in the frozen north.  You know how to deal with it, but most of us down here in Central to Lower Texas, don't have a clue.  1 inch of snow puts a halt to all traffic.  Schools close. Then there's the ice, which is a killer.  We only have an ice storm about every 10 years, thank the Lord.   However, the sun, what little of it is coming through the clouds, has a solar effect on the dark asphalt streets.  They've all melted, and are dry. Forecast is for more of the same through tomorrow, with Snow showers on Wednesday.

The saving grace for us is that this is MLK Day and most businesses and all schools, colleges around us are closed.  Can't go fishing, can't play golf, so, it looks like TV, reading a Tony Hillerman tribal police novel and tying some flies.  Could be worse.
