Don: Thanks... I saw Lefty and Bob do that bend back technique, and you are right.. They said that most ppl bend the hook wayyyy too much... I can see where the cone would catch less weeds than a barbell.. Good idea, Chuck

Then I glue on epoxy eyes and tie so that the head is narrow and has no bumps and then coat the whole head with cement to make it smooth. This is my best weedless minnow fly in all variations. That thread bump idea sounds good to Me, cause that has been the hardest part for me.. Getting the figure eight's started. while trying to hold the eyes in place.. Also, making a "saddle" from 2 thread bumps to place the eyes between is a good way to help manage the placement of those eyes and minimize sliding. ----- Original Message ---- From: Mark Romero <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: [email protected] Sent: Monday, January 15, 2007 1:11:12 PM Subject: Re: [VFB] Clouser Minnow Question It is Chuck, very easy......a bit time consumming.......but one thing will really help that. when you do the eyes, make absolutely sure that you not only figure 8 them, but that you also do wraps underneath them, VERY tight, above the hook shank. Don't underneath the hook shank when doing those wraps. They are to "lock-in" your figure 8 wraps, and should be done extremely tight. If you do them correctly, you won't need near as many figure 8 wraps.....thereby saving time. And stagger those wraps, figure 8's, underneaths, figure 8's, underneaths, etc., etc....... mark ------------------------------------------------------------------------ From: "Chuck Alexander" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Reply-To: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [VFB] Clouser Minnow Question Date: Sun, 14 Jan 2007 14:05:38 -0600 Rick, Arne: Thanks for the tips..I saw Bob Clouser tying some, and frankly, it looks like a fairly easy fly to tie, Chuck ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Zieger To: [email protected] Sent: Sunday, January 14, 2007 6:50 AM Subject: Re: [VFB] Clouser Minnow Question They are good flies.
