Deb, I have a mini-lathe that I bought from Harbour Freight a couple years ago. It's small, only about 10" in length, cost was around $25. I use it to turn bodys for my bass and bream poppers. Works great. I'm
sure it would handle saltwater poppers too. Check it out.

P.S. Built my first Pinewood Derby car in 1946, when I was a Wee Cub! Ahh, the stories I can tell about all the pinewood derby races I judged in my 36 years with the Boy Scouts.

I would love it!! Wow! Thank you. I was thinking of you as I went
through the wood store. They have a new catalog out for 2007 that I grabbed
for you. I priced a mini lathe just out of curiosity and they weren't too
bad. I think it's just like fly tying though ... If you get into you will
end up spending more money than you save but it would be fun to make your
own. Saltwater poppers are pretty expensive to buy but appear to be easy
to make.
