Jim, Thanks for the support. It's hard enough not being able to make it. But letting the guys down on the rope-dubbing is keeping me awake at night- not to mention not getting to see Tony again.
I'm considering a rope-dubbing cd (or 2) after this project is over. I'm not a videographer and I'll have to figure it all out, but it would be worth it. I'll also do a deer-hair video once I get it figured out. LOL Sorry if that sounds trite and curt but Don O. tried but other committments (priorities) happened. I am sure Tony or another expert can assist those wanting to learn the procedure. Maybe someone can get Don to do a DVD on this procedure. I for one would buy it. Bayrd - hint hint! Dubbing is my worst nightmare. Wax-no wax-spit, you name it and the dubbing still falls off the thread. I started using cactus chennille, mohair etc to make fake dubbing but it is not the same. OAN: As I stated in one of my other posts I am going steelhead fishing on the Snake River in Oct. Any suggestions on the flies I should tie? Size of hook? etc.. Somewhere I saw a procedure where two colors of marabou were mixed as they were tied to the hook, not laid on top of each other but intermingled. I don't remember if it was by Don or by Tony but of course I can't find the bugger again. I have the following DVD's that I can make single copies of (each DVD takes about two hours to copy if ny PC does not go wierd on me: Fishing Flies of North America - Dick Stewart/Farrow Allen Tying Bass Flies Parts 1 and 2 - Dave Whitlock Western Dry Fly Tying Patterns Part 1 and 2 - Jack Dennis I can not take money for the copies but I would like to trade a copy for other DVD's; especially: Rortary Vise tying Steelhead/Salmon Fly making Woolie worm'bugger tying Anything of this nature. Please contact me offline and lets discuss this further if you are able to help this poor old novice. [EMAIL PROTECTED] Tightlines to all and Tony have a great time at the Sowbug (maybe someone can do a DVD of the highnotes).Maybe I can get to one closer to my home in Northern CAL. Looks like I won't be able to attend Sowbug this year. Part of the pitfalls of consulting work. Cheryl & I were really looking forward to it, so we hope I'll get another invite next year.
