What is in your "most used fly" box? Right now with trout fishing opening on Saturday with sunshine and temps in the 60's. I'm checking my trout boxes. All two of them. Two beat up Perrine boxes, whatever was originally in them to hold flies has been removed and replace with ripple foam. One's my small fly box, you won't recognize the name of the patterns, they're my own patterns. I've got a row of Wissahickon midges size 20 to 28. Next is a half a row of Ridley Creek Fuzz Balls, size 20 to 24, with three Messes, thought up by a [EMAIL PROTECTED] (mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]) Canadian over a bottle of Scotch. Then a row of Usuals size 16 to 20 with a couple of size 20 Snowshoe Emergers mixed in. A row of Schuylkill Midges size 20 to 22 with one size 20 OBA. Then a row of misc. midge pupae including a size 20 Crazy Charlie. Then the meat of my nymph collection mostly soft hackle beadhead PT Nymphs and Hare's Ear Nymphs. Size 26 to 16. Last row Green Weenies, size 20 to 26. The other side is sparse right now some Partridge and various colors, size 12 and 14 SHBHPTN, a couple of worms, some small minnow patterns and some caddis pupae. The large box holds my dries on one side, CDC and Elks, size 12 to 16, Usuals, size 12 and 14, Snowshoe Emergers size 12 and 14. One Nalle Puh, one Yak Hair Humpy and half dozen ants. The other side has some large soft hackles and various colored Weenies, size 10 and 12. A half dozen Estaz bugs, and a half dozen baitfish patterns. For warm water on the local creek, I carry 3 boxes, top water, subsurface, and the "those aren't flies, they're lures" box. For Salt water, two boxes and one wallet. Top water, subsurface, and the wallet for flies that don't look good after being crushed in a box.
