OK, I kept quiet until Jimmy spoke up. If you write for Fly Tyer magazine, you'll learn that they DEMAND that you spell the person "fly-tier." They specifically note that they used the "incorrect" fly tyer because it looked better. If you check the Outdoor Writers of America style manual, it reads, "fly-tier (n) One who ties artificial flies. Not fly tyer."
