Jim,
I've owned "Korkers" for SEVERAL years now and I've had absolutely no problem
with them. I love em. I use the "studded felt" soles and I've used the same
set of soles for going on two years now and I fish pretty much all year long up
here on the San Juan River. Yes, the studs are getting a little on the worn
side and I probably will break down and get a new set this fall, but they still
do the trick and I've had no problem on "REALLY" slick, mossy rocks in some
knee, to waist deep FAST water. I like the versatility of the interchangeable
soles, to which I can change soles from hiking to and from the river, whereas
non-interchangeable soles once they're worn out you have to purchase totally
new boots.

they can make them last.

Jim, I have a pair of Korkers. Love-em. When switching switching
between the felt or hard soles, I've had no problem. The felts are
great on slick/mossy rocks and the hiking soles do OK on gravel bottom.
Also, switching out the felt to the hiking sole is neat for hikiing
back to my fishing car. I've heard that the studs only last a short
time, maybe a trip or two. They need to do some serious work on them
before I'll buy a pair. That'ws why I got felt / hiking interchangeable
    soles.
