Been gone, but back now. I've been on a cruise the last week, out of Miami, on the Carnival Valor, to the Bahamas. No fishing, just being with Cheryl and her family.
One place I'd like to try on another date is just out back of the motel we stayed at. It was on a waterway and there were 2 dozen or so 30" carp just off the rear deck balcony. Would be awesome fun on a fly rod. Fed them some leftover bagels from the kitchen, and they were big enough to swallow huge chunks. Some oscars and peacck bass showed up, too. The oscars were hugh and the PB's were about that size, too. Next week-end we're planning a camping/fishing trip to the 'Miracle Mile' area of the Platte River Drainage, famous for gargantuan brown trout. Later this summer I'm planning a trip to Glacier to fish the rivers around there. Need to get with Big Troutman and anyone else in the area, if they'll let me know where they are, we can wet a line together. DonO
