Any of the Canon Ixus models will do teh finest. I have the Ixus 55 which is approx $200 these days. Its a 5.5megapixel camera with lots of options and it is absolutly BRILLIANT!
The macro shots are mighty too. I saw the 7mp version recently also. It seems sturdier but will be out of the price range. Hope that is of help!
