How do you dry (not dye <G>) your flies?
I was out fishing today at the Ahr (Very neat, fine water, pleasant
scenery and excellent wine <G>, you see the picture ??).. Aehm that was
not the topic.
I tried to ty on a fly and the hook broke into 2 parts. I'm sure this
fly is 3 to 5 years old, and a couple of years ago I caught a trout with
it. I usually wash my flies after return, and let them sit on a cloth
for 1 to 3 days, than they return into the box. My impression is, that
this fly (hook) broke because of rust.
How do you avoid this, or was it simply a bad hook?
I'm talking about freshwater.

Don't worry about this mishap, I had some more flies with me and caught
my share of fish. Most of them on a hopper and my parachute beetle.
