Hi Rene
Amsterdam has lots of entertainment of course, but flyshops isn't one of
them. There is one, Jan Schreiner en Zoon, in the Roelof Hartstraat. The
late Jan Schreiner is one of the icons of Dutch (fly) fishing. But the shop
is not really a shop to spend a great deal of time (any longer).
You could also drive to the central station, drop the kids off, and visit
Peeters Hengelsport in Kortenhoef, SE of Amsterdam. That's a nice drive, and
Peeters is one of the more well-known shops in Holland. When you've seen
enough you can drive to the ArenA, the Ajax stadium, and park the car in the
Transferium below the stadium, where they will give you a free ticket for
the "metro" to the central station. Enjoy the sights of Amsterdam for a bit,
pick up the kids, and transfer back to the ArenA.
Have fun!
Mart

Subject: [VFB] ff shop in Amsterdam
Hi,
I know we have more than 2 dutch people on the list...
tomorrow I have the pleasure to drive a load of gals and girls to
Amsterdam (in the Netherlands). They want to do some severe shopping. Any
idea what can save my day? A flyshop to visit? I'll intend to park the car
near the sixt haven and than use the ferry to go to the central station,
therefore I'll next to the central station.
Or should i just drink a cup of coffee and dream about the 5 pounder below
Tony's dock?
Rene
