For combined instruction and entertainment, I have to put Gary La Fontaine at or near the top of my list(s). I have to say though, that years ago my wife made a rule that any book by Patrick McManus was put down before coming to bed. She claimed she couldn't sleep when I was shaking all over from laughing.
