Yes. I use DirectFB where the v4l video provider notifies the matrox driver of the field change. So the cards aren't really synced together and that might cause some artifacts. The G400 docs say this: "For de-interlaced conversion, subpixel compensation is applied on the lower field". So I suppose that if the field changes aren't registered the image looks either unmodified or too blocky depending on which field the hardware thinks is being displayed. I haven't really tested if this is true.
