Have you made setup change in /etc/modules.conf right? It should like following:

                        alias char-major-89 i2c-dev
                        options i2c-core i2c_debug=1
                        options i2c-algo-bit bit_test=1
                        alias char-major-81 bttv
                        alias char-major-81-0 bttv
                        options bttv card=73 radio=1
                        options tuner debug=1 type=4

Once you made it right and when you run the app you mentioned, you should get following info:

Attached is a sample image captured with Sensoray 311, using a camera with NTSC video output. As a sample still image, you can make a comparison. It's just a captured image from tesing, without good focus, converted from .ppm to .jpg using xv util.

I'm capturing using a Sensoray 311 also, and my images also look terrible (they are NTSC,
but the same cameras look much better using a wintv 401)... Perhaps something is not
quite right with bttv for the sensoray boards (the risc micrccode??).

I'm using a modified version of the still app available on sensoray's website.

Subject: Sensoray 311

Hi,

I’m looking for an app that will enable me to capture video using a Sensoray 311. I’ve had it capturing using the latest ‘videodog’ but the images look like NTSC although they’re PAL. i.e. the image is barely discernible, There’s substantial corruption. I’m using Suse 8.1. I have the board set up correctly as it reads back as PAL when I query the settings. Any advice would be much appreciated. I’d even be glad to use a different app if anyone has had one working with this equipment. I just want to take still images from the Sensoray 311 frame grabber.
